Home Sweet Time

"Time beats like a broken clock trying to reestablish its cycles. Living is a constant motion blur. We bring the dissonance of our existence. Belonging keeps our essence. That's how we were. So here I am. We used to call it Home. Now it is just a piece of our history through time."

Software and equipment used

3ds Max, Corona Renderer, Photoshop, Substance Designer.

A little about the technique and storytelling. I'm about to make the last refinements

A few hours before the deadline, I decided to change a little my idea - a post-production part. Found a couple's photography on Pinterest and put them in the "young photo". Added some scratches to exteriorize the oldness of that photo. So here I'm trying to decide between the sepia and the colorful color grading

Last hours. Definitely the hard ones. In serious doubt about two color gradings. In the war with post-production! In some hours I'm about to decide. Patience lol

Started several days ago the concept of this work, but due to my busy time, I started the 3D production last week. Changed a little some parts of my concept - visually saying. The idea is still the same.

Used Rayswitch and Exclude/Include techniques to have two moods rendered in the same image. Spent a quick time making the wooden tile material in the Substance Designer. After all, what is a contest without interesting learnings, right?

Took a photo of my father's hand to get a special touch through my idea - and to challenge me in the post-production. Moreover, got a photograph of a couple on Pexels. Special thanks to the photographer (Jonathan Borba)

A lot of my concept and my process is explained in the images I attached.

I'm about to finalize the image tomorrow.

That's all folks. Good luck to me and all!
